Meet the Team

  • Melissa Moore-Schmitt

    Owner & Audiologist / MA, CCC-A

    30 years ago, Melissa started this practice and has built it from the ground up. She is known for her “going above and beyond” mentality and exceptional communication with her patients. Melissa grew up in Effingham, IL. She graduated from Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville where she obtained her bachelor’s degree in 1983 and from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign where she obtained her master’s degree in audiology in 1985. She completed her externship in Canada, where she worked closely with pediatric patients with hearing loss. Outside of running a business and being an audiologist, Melissa loves to exercise, travel and spending time with her family, especially her husband, kids and grandson!

  • Brianna Schmitt-Croy

    Audiologist & Tinnitus Specialist / AuD, CH-TM, CCC-A

    Brianna joined her mother’s practice in July 2019. Brianna has successfully completed the challenge of taking the entire practice and turning it paperless and digital while still being a thriving audiologist. She worked for her mother throughout her high school and college years doing admin work. She grew up in Troy, IL. Brianna graduated with her bachelor’s degree in May 2015 from Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville where she played soccer and from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis in May 2019. She completed her externship from June 2018-June 2019 in Charlotte, NC at an ENT clinic, where she worked closely with hearing aids, vertigo and tinnitus patients. Outside of working, Branna loves to exercise, travel, spend time in nature and with her growing family.

  • Mattie Garber

    Patient Care Coordinator

    Mattie joined the practice in July 2023. Mattie has submerged herself in the world of audiology and always makes sure our patients feel cared for in the best and most appropriate way possible. She grew up in Maryville, IL. Outside of working, she loves camping and spending time with her family, especially her 3 kids.

  • There are many signs to hearing loss, pending your lifestyle. Some of the most common signs are turning the TV up, understanding speech in background noise, struggling with telephone conversations, asking others to repeat and tinnitus.

  • We will discuss your hearing test results with you during your first appointment, and make the best recommendation based off your needs and wants.

  • Whether you have hearing loss, tinnitus, or some other auditory condition, your appointment will likely begin with a hearing test. we will discuss your medical case history, perform a full hearing evaluation and discuss the test findings and recommendations with you. Comprehensive hearing evaluations typically last 45-60 minutes.

  • We offer several different brands and technology. Please refer to our home page with the major brands and styles we work with.

  • Hearing loss gradually occurs in both ears, so most audiologists agree that it is in your best interest to fit both ears with hearing devices. Having hearing aids in both ears can also help restore your ears' natural ability to work together to process sounds.
